Planning on bringing your own "adult beverages" to Hydrofest on the Evansville riverfront this weekend? Not so fast my friend.

Way back in the Thunder on the Ohio days, spectators were welcome pack their own coolers full of beer, or whatever (but let's be honest, it was beer), to enjoy while they spent the day on the banks of the Ohio River taking in the thunder boat races. Fast forward to the present, and you may assume the old policy (or lack thereof depending on how you want to look at it) applies to Hydrofest. Well, it did, but it doesn't any more, and it shouldn't have in the first place. You with me?

Organizers of the event, entering its second year this weekend, reminded those planning to attend their permit with the Indiana Alcohol Beverage Commission prohibits (read: Does NOT allow) alcohol purchased outside the event to be brought in. It also prohibits visitors from taking alcohol purchased at the event outside the gates.

If you head down to the event and find that you head a bit too much fun, don't forget that Logan's Promise is offering free cab rides home for Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, and Gibson County residents through 3:00 a.m. Monday morning.
