In a world that seems to get more hostile every minute, now more than ever, we all need to practice more tolerance, understanding and peace. BRIDGE (Building Respect & Integrity in Diverse Greater Evansville) is helping bring us together as a community. A concert has been planned to help us find that common ground. Get the details!

The Press Release from BRIDGE:

It seems everywhere we look, people are taking sides and calling names. How can we learn to find common ground?

On Friday, July 21, the groundbreaking vocal group The Ripple Effect presents "If You Knew Me, You'd Love Me,” an evening of music and words designed to build understanding.

Uplifting songs of unity and inspiration will be interwoven with speakers from the Evansville area who will share personal stories of feeling misunderstood in our society today.

This concert at 7:00 PM at Aldersgate United Methodist Church is sponsored by BRIDGE and other Evansville groups.

The public is invited to attend to hear a wide variety of great songs delivered by the choir with plenty of style—everything from Broadway and R&B to pop and psychedelic soul funk.

The Ripple Effect, based in South Bend, has toured Indiana and nearby states the past 3 years with this concert, incorporating local people speaking. You will hear words from the heart by a Muslim, a person with physical disability, a transgender man, an African American woman, and others. Their stories can help us better understand each other.

A free-will offering will be taken to support this touring group. ($10 donation suggested.) Aldersgate United Methodist Church is located at 5130 Lincoln Ave, Evansville, IN. For more information call 574-291-9044 or e-mail sherry@sherryk.com, or locally contact Joe Easley (812-431-3248).

Those who can stay after the concert are invited to participate in a panel discussion on the importance of breaking down barriers and building bridges within our community.
