Here we go again!  Just when we thought the Blue Angels would be able to return to the Evansville Riverfront for ShrinersFest 2013, there's a good chance they won't have the funding to perform.

Congress is currently debating a budget, which may cut funding for the Navy by up to $4 billion.  This would most certainly cut funds for the Blue Angels, one of the most popular shows across the country.  Preparations have already been made for the Blue Angels to perform in Evansville this June, including hotel accommodations and payment for the performance, which amounts to $12,000.

If the government budget results in the grounding of the Blue Angels, the Shriners will get a refund from the government.  ShrinersFest won't be the same, and we'll all be disappointed and miss the "thunder" up above.  We'll just have to wait and see.  Keep your fingers crossed!
