Better Business Bureau Warns of New Microsoft Scam
The Tri-State Better Business Bureau is giving local residents a heads up after receiving word of a new phone scam offering a refund from Microsoft.
According to the BBB, the call will come number such as 888-697-0511 (or something similar). The scammer will make the claim that the potential victim is eligible for a refund from the computer software manufacturer, and to receive it they must be given access to their computer, as well as their bank account so they can directly deposit the funds.
