‘Bates Motel’ Scares Up Creepy New Photos; Norman Bates With an iPhone?
Could the future skeleton of Norman Bates' mother wind up with her own Twitter account? That's the question we've been wondering after viewing the first batch of photos from A&E's upcoming 'Psycho' prequel TV series 'Bates Motel,' which explicitly confirm the story to take place in modern day. New photos from the network show off Freddie Highmore's creepy Norman Bates, along with the core cast unaware of young Norman's burgeoning psychosis, so how would you like a first look at 'Bates Motel?
World, meet the modern-day Norman Bates. Via The Hollywood Reporter, A&E's upcoming prequel series 'Bates Motel' has released the first official photos of its inagural season, having been picked up for a full ten-episode order before shooting a pilot episode. In addition to Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga as the titular Bates clan, the series also includes Max Thieriot as long-lost Bates brother Dylan, ‘LOST’s’ Nestor Carbonell as "edgy" Sheriff Alex Romero, Mike Vogell as his deputy Zach Shelby, Olivia Cooke as Norman's handicapped friend Emma Decody, and ‘The Last Airbender’s Nicola Peltz as high school it-girl Bradley.
In addition to the character photos, we also see a few images of the iconic Bates Motel, perfectly re-created from Alfred Hitchcock's 'Psycho,' as well as clear evidence of the story taking place in modern day. The prequel series is executive produced by former 'LOST' show-runner Carlton Cuse, and will debut in 2013. Might there also be some twisted 'LOST'-style conspiracy behind the room numbers in the photos?
