“Back to school to prove to Dad I’m not a fool…”  Thank you, Billy Madison.

I can’t believe it’s already the end of July.  August is just around the corner and that means so is the first day of the new school year!  The school supply lists are out and there are plenty of advertisements for back to school clothing sales around the area.

As a kid, I always liked the weeks right before school started because there was a little rush in making sure I had notebooks and pencils and something nice to wear for the first day – let’s not forget meeting the teachers!  I went to a small Catholic school through 8th grade so I didn’t have to worry about knowing who my teacher would be, but for most tri-state kids, that’s part of the prep process.

Let’s take a look at just how soon the first day is for some of our area schools.

EVSC – August 11th

Evansville Christian – August 14th

North Posey County – August 11th

Warrick County – August 11th

Spencer County – August 11th

Owensboro Public Schools – August 6th

Daviess County (KY) – August 13th

Henderson County – August 6th

Here’s to another great school year in the tri-state!
