'Star Wars' has entered a brave new world since its acquisition by Disney last month; it appears as though every day sheds a little more light on the fast-tracked remodeling of the Lucasfilm property. Most recently we learned that 'Empire Strikes Back' scribe Lawrence Kasdan is allegedly making a long-awaited return to the franchise; joining the cause as well is 'X-Men: The Last Stand' writer Simon Kinberg. The thinking at the time of that news was that Disney and Lucasfilm had hired the screenwriters to commence work on Star Wars: Episodes 8 and 9, but a new report suggests something a bit more ambitious may be at play...
Broken Lizard - the comedy team that brought us the cult favorites 'Super Troopers' and 'Beerfest' - has a new comedy coming out called 'Freeloaders' and the trailer has just crashed the 'net. Yes, its just as juvenile as you would expect. Yes, it stars Olivia Munn and that guy from Counting Crows (who also produces). And yes, we have to see this thing pronto.
Danny Trejo's Machete is rarely -- if ever -- squaring off against a foe he can't handle, but that has changed with a lawsuit that has put the badass in danger of being shut down.
Overnight Productions, which produced the original 'Machete' as well as the sequel 'Machete Kills,' is looking to cut ties with Robert Rodriguez, director of both pictures, and is seeking $2 million in damages for various alleged wrongdoings. And this could well see 'Machete Kills' shelved for the foreseeable future.
This holiday season, you'll probably be giving a geek you love a copy of 'The Dark Knight Rises,' which hits shelves on December 4. So, if you're going to be purchasing a copy anyway, you might as well get an "exclusive reward" out of it, right? Like a brand new look at 'Man of Steel,' Zack Snyder's Superman reboot?
Find out how you can help unleash Supes on the world early after the break.
As we revealed back in August, 20th Century Fox altered its original distribution plan for the 'Star Wars' 3D re-releases -- from dishing one out annually to giving them back-to-back releases -- with 'Attack of the Clones' and 'Revenge of the Sith' separated by a mere handful of weeks in late 2013.
Well, that has changed once again, as the studio has moved 'Sith' up; now it opens only two weeks after 'Attack of the Clones.' Find out the exact dates after the break.
Believe it or not, it has almost been 20 years since 'Wayne's World 2' came out. (That little piece of info just makes our bones creak.) A long time, yes, but it's never too late to reunite with old friends, which is why we're absolutely delighted to hear that Mike Myers is working on a 'Wayne's World 3' with the lovable public access hosts from Illinois.
Not only that, but Myers has apparently finished the first draft of the screenplay! Find out what it's about after the break. Shhwiiing!
Vin Diesel has given his 35 million Facebook fans something to be thankful for once again, as he's taken to his page to reveal a major piece of information regarding one of his movies.
This time he let us know when we'll finally see the 'Fast Six' trailer and it's during the biggest TV event of the year.
Those 'Expendables' are still truckin'; despite being a combined age of 794 (well, roughly), the creaky action heroes are soldiering on toward 'The Expendables 3,' with Sylvester Stallone leading the charge. However, they just might be too old for this, um, stuff.
Stallone recently implied that the group will have to bring in new blood to keep going - and no, we don't mean a transfusion - we mean a new set of characters to shake things up and give the elder gentlemen a boost. So what does Sly have in mind? Find out after the break!
No, this isn't a remake of the De Niro-Pacino classic. 'The Heat' brings Sandra Bullock, perhaps Hollywood's most bankable actress, and 'Bridesmaids' scene-stealer Melissa McCarthy, last year's most unlikely "it girl," together for a raucous buddy comedy that sees the two playing mismatched law enforcers. Can you imagine?!
The trailer for the comedy, directed by McCarthy's 'Bridesmaids' helmer Paul Feig, has just burst onto the internet, and you can watch it here after the break.
Sean Penn: Action Hero? Stranger things have happened -- must we remind you that Liam Neeson is Hollywood's No. 1 butt-kicker? Even so, it's a tad strange to think of the stoic Penn taking part in car chases and gunfights, but that seems like it's close to happening.
