Yes, that's the title of the event in which you can participate to help raise money for Tecumseh High School this Saturday. It's easy, too! Your simple test drive of a new car on the school property equates to $20 for the school! Don't worry - there won't be any salesperson to put pressure on you to buy the car. Just hop in, drive the car around the parking lot and raise money! Plus there will be barbeque and a multifamily yard sale. In other words, you get to drive, shop and eat!
Not only can you see great golfing, enjoy a beautiful day with family and friends, but you can also help your favorite charity by purchasing your tickets to the 2014 United Leasing Championship. Once again the championship will be held at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh. Want to know more? Read on!
One mistake I've made in the past, and maybe you have, too, is to spend my refund money on things that I would like to have instead of things I truly need. Another idea is to take that money and NOT spend it, but rather invest it in some sort of retirement fund, kids' education fund, etc. However, if the refund is burning a hole in your pocket and you simply have to buy something, I understand. But let me tell you what to buy or not to buy in April. Why? Because if you wait just a little while, you can get better deals.
As spring and summer round the corner, weddings are sure to follow. Jenny and I will be happily attending a wedding at the end of May and so, it's time to go wedding gift shopping. Experience from our own wedding tells us that gifts are sometimes of little value to the wedding couple. So, in preparation we're asking ourselves, "What can we afford that the wedding couple will truly appreciate?" You may be facing this same situation, so here are a few suggestions.
Each and every day I'm on the air, I always end my broadcast with a reminder for you to "keep wearing that smile because it's contagious, you know." It's true! One of my nicknames here at the station is "Smilin' Dave" because I smile a lot to spread a positive vibe to everyone I meet or see. It's small but it's powerful. So every day when I drive home and see this face smiling at me, it reminds me to continue doing what I'm doing. (He may not be smiling, but I like to think he is!)
A number of scams have been victimizing Tri-State residents of late. I, personally, have received the phone calls from Florida, and even from myself (how is that possible?!) about my Mastercard (which I don't even have!). Now Vectren is warning us about another scam that has surfaced. It seems that "someone" is making phone calls to Vectren customers claiming to be a representative of the company and wanting an immediate payment or the service to their home or business will be disconnected.
Every year, the community comes together to help the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center raise funds with the Telethon on WEHT Local. This year's Telethon will be this Sunday, April 13, 12-6 p.m. on WEHT Local!
The trampoline in our back yard provides hours of bouncing fun for Emily and Elliot. Elliot bounces simply to bounce around. Emily does that too, but she also practices her cheers and tumbling. We all realize that bouncing on a trampoline is lots of fun, but it’s also great exercise for the muscles and cardiovascular system. And as great as it is to have one of these, it doesn’t compare to what’s coming for Evansville area residents – a Sky Zone Trampoline Park.
The Evansville Christian Life Center is one of those places that wants to improve our community one person at a time, and the people involved with the ECLC are getting the job done! April is the month of the ECLC's Poverty Awareness Campaign called, "30 Days of Poverty." Several events are connected with this campaign, and one of the events is, "Shoeless Sunday." It's a way that you can help people in the community!
It seems that living in the Evansville and Tri-State area means severe weather can strike at any time on any day of any month. However, when the beginning of April rolls around, you know that the severe weather season window is opening with storms likely to follow. Bada-bing, bada-boom, today is April 2 and the severe weather threat is rearing its ugly head, with severe weather as a possibility tomorrow. That's why, as I was driving through Chandler, this contraption caught my eye.
