Stephen King Says ‘The Dark Tower’ Is a Bit Different From His Books, In Case You Didn’t Know
Akiva Goldsman’s screenplay for The Dark Tower movie has been floating around for some time now, so if you’re a particularly curious fan, chances are you’re already aware that the adaptation is going to be a bit…different from Stephen King’s version. Just how different remains to be seen, as director Nikolaj Arcel and Anders Thomas Jensen reportedly revised the Goldsman draft before filming. But if you were expecting a faithful adaptation of The Gunslinger…well, perhaps you should adjust your expectations.

Helen Mirren is closing a deal to play Sarah Winchester in a new supernatural thriller based on the unnervingly strange story of the heir to the famed rifle manufacturing fortune. Simply titled Winchester, the project comes from the directing duo behind Daybreakers and Predestination.
Andre the Giant Biopic in the Works Based on Wrestler’s Graphic Novel Biography
A biography told in graphic novel form is far from typical, but then again, so was Andre Roussimoff, the pro-wrestling legend better known to fans as Andre the Giant. The 2015 graphic novel Andre the Giant: Closer to Heaven will serve as the inspiration for the late wrestler’s big screen biopic, with his daughter Robin Christensen-Roussimoff serving as consultant on the project.

Warner Bros. Sets 2017 Release Dates for Stephen King’s ‘It’ and ‘CHiPs’
Warner Bros. has announced release dates for two of their upcoming adaptations / reboots, adding both films — along with an untitled mystery project — to their 2017 slate. First up is CHiPs, Dax Shepard’s new action-comedy based on the classic ’80s TV series, starring Shepard and Michael Peña in the leading roles. Next is It, the long-developing and slightly-delayed adaptation of Stephen King’s beloved horror novel, which became the subject of some minor controversy following director Cary Fukunaga’s departure.
Rumor: ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Villain Could Be This Guy
James Gunn recently took to Facebook to let fans know that he’s done addressing crazy rumors about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which is totally fair — but it also means he won’t be tweeting or Facebook-posting about this latest rumor, which potentially reveals the identity of the villain in the upcoming sequel. And it’s a big one. Bigger than Thanos…in size, anyway.
‘The Godfather Epic’ Seven-Hour Chronological Cut Is Streaming on HBO Now
HBO Now is good for many things: for catching up on those shows you’ve been missing, for watching films exclusively airing on the premium network (including pretty much all the Police Academy movies, if that’s your thing, sure), for using your parents’ password to take advantage of their disposable income… But there’s something else the streaming service has that you won’t find anywhere else: a seven-hour cut of the first two Godfather films, edited in chronological order. If you have the day off, now might be a good time to indulge in such a thing.
