As many know by now, Lane Goodwin, the young man who had been battling Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma Stage IV – a rare and very aggressive form of childhood cancer - passed away. Today, his parents issued a statement to the community and all those who had participated in the Thumbs Up for Lane campaign.

It is with a heavy heart that we report our friend, colleague and Owensboro icon Joe Lowe passed away this morning from an aggressive form of esophageal cancer. Joe was best known for his distinct voice as the host of the Joe Lowe Morning Show on 1490 WOMI - it was truly the heartbeat of Owensboro.
