A very warm and humid southwest wind flow will provide fuel for more thunderstorms today. The primary hazards will be flooding and locally damaging winds. A weak cold front will move south across our region tonight and early Saturday, bringing more storms.

Jackie Brown, meteorologist at our media partner CBS 44 explained to me that this storm system has been unpredictable. At this time, another round of storms is expected for the late afternoon to early evening hours and it could be as severe as the first few rounds we've seen. It may even start as early as 1 PM.

We also wanted to remind you that if you see water on roadways, do not chance going through it. Find an alternate route. If you see a tree down on the roadway, turn around - there may be downed power lines around the tree.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN
ILLINOIS...SOUTHWEST INDIANA...WESTERN KENTUCKY AND SOUTHEAST
MISSOURI.

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE FORECAST AGAIN TODAY, BOTH THIS
MORNING, AND AGAIN THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE WITH STORMS TODAY...SO A FLASH FLOOD WATCH
HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR AREAS HARDEST HIT BY RECENT HEAVY RAINS. REFER TO THE WATCH FOR DETAILS. A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE STORMS IS
POSSIBLE AS WELL...WITH DAMAGING WINDS THE PRIMARY SEVERE WEATHER HAZARD.
