Apple has done it again.  The innovative company is "reinventing the wheel", so to speak, by making textbooks more interesting and user-friendly.  And its starting with textbooks.

Unveiled at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the iBooks 2 app takes textbooks (and books) to a whole new level, the third dimension.

It's companion app is iBooks Author, which the company is distributing for free. The app is designed for the Mac, so people can write books for iBooks 2.

You'll be able to download the iBooks 2 app to your iPhone, but the iBooks author app is only optimized for Mac.
