Anthony Mackie is on a roll. The actor has appeared in eight movies over the last two years (including the just-released 'Gangster Squad'), and has four more due out in 2013. In 2014, he'll play in front of his largest audience yet as The Falcon in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.

Mackie recently revealed a few minor but exciting details about his character and you can read all about them after the break.

Naturally, Mr. Mackie is not about to give up a ton of info regarding his turn as Falcon, but what he did say will be to the delight of comic book fans everywhere. Mackie told Aint It Cool News:

I will have wings. I will be able to fly. I will be a superhero and fight people, namely The Winter Soldier.

Yes, Falcon will actually be flying around and assisting his pal Steve Rogers as they take on The Winter Soldier (aka Bucky Barnes, portrayed once again by Sebastian Stan). However, it's unclear whether or not he'll have his trusty bird sidekick Redwing. (Mackie is asked but he doesn't answer.)

Mackie also noted that he was not a comic book geek growing up, and that the preparation for the character was mostly done online.

It was funny; a lot of the research I found was online. My older brother was a huge comic book buff. So when the news came out online, he called me and just gave me the whole rundown. Luckily, I have a lot of friends who weren’t cool growing up, but who are really cool now, so they read a lot of comic books. So I would just call and ask them, and they would send me all of this stuff online, and I got to read a bunch of the old comic books. It’s fortunate, because it’s a take off the comic book, it’s not the exactly storyline of the comic book.

We'll see Falcon in action once 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' hits theaters on April 4, 2014.
