Ohio police say at least 5 students were shot this morning as they waited in the Chardon High School cafeteria to catch a bus for another area school.

Police are not commenting on the extent of the injuries of the 5 students who were allegedly shot by the suspect.

At least one student, speaking to reporters as her father took her home, reported seeing the alleged shooter chasing someone down the hall away from the cafeteria.

School officials for Chardon say the shooting started around 7:40am EDT, just as school was getting started for the day.

The FBI tells CNN they have a suspect in custody. There are unconfirmed reports the shooter is also a high school student.
