The Indiana Department of Education released their annual Four Star Awards on Tuesday to nearly 300 elementary, middle, and high schools across the state. Among those include 15 schools in Evansville, Newburgh, and Mount Vernon.

The awards are based on stats from the 2014-2015 school year and include the school's state grade as well as ISTEP+ scores in English and Math, among others.

In Evansville, Good Shepherd, Mater Dei, Memorial, Resurrection, Evansville Christian, Evansville Day School, Oak Hill Elementary, Scott Elementary, and Signature School all received the recognition, while St. Wendel in Wadesville and St. Philip in Mount Vernon also were given the honor.

In Newburgh, both Castle North and Castle South Middle Schools, as well as Castle High School and Sharon Elementary were all recognized.

Congratulations to the students, faculty, and administrations of all 15 schools for their well-deserved honors!
